Van Tongeren were pioneers from the 1950’s of FCC catalyst recovery cyclones and since then have continued development work to ensure maximum efficiency and extended service life.

Van Tongeren cyclone separators as a result of continued research since the formation of Van Tongeren in 1927 and over 50 years experience since the first installation of fluidised bed FCC cyclones provide proof of their ability to meet the gas cleaning needs of the petrochemical industry.

Continued collaboration over many years with the petrochemical industry throughout the world enables process designers and suppliers to draw on Van Tongeren’s extensive knowledge and very broad experience in cyclones for fluidised bed and chemical gas cleaning applications, particularly in areas where abrasion, corrosion and high temperature are present.

Van Tongeren High Efficiency cyclones supplied by Kentech and designed by Van Tongeren are individually constructed taking into account all operating variables, using programs and data compiled over 80 years of successful plant installations.

Beyond primary and secondary FCC cyclones, Van Tongeren also design 3rd stage cyclone separators for Regenerator gas cleaning and power recovery prior to power recovery gas turbines aimed at reducing expensive catalyst loses and meeting air pollution requirements. These pressure vessel cyclones are of special design developed to suit.

Each cyclone system, small or large, is designed by Van Tongeren specifically to meet application requirements. Good recovery can be achieved down to 5 microns [and below] and temperatures to 1000Deg C are achievable.
